Volunteering and Internship Opportunities

The Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development (CJAED) offers exciting, challenging and hands-on internships and volunteer opportunities. If you are looking to gain real insight and experience into the operation of an Israeli non-profit organization engaged in economic development, integration and fostering Jewish-Arab partnerships – CJAED is the place for you!

CJAED welcomes enthusiastic, motivated interns and volunteers to work with our staff and project managers on a wide variety projects and activities. Internships and volunteer positions are designed to provide you with a hands-on experience in non-profit work and therefore we ensure your involvement in significant projects and activities directly affecting the work of the CJAED. For example:

Grant Applications

CJAED relies on grants and donations to fund activities and projects. Grant writing and reporting is an important part of CJAED operations, particularly in the current economic climate. You will research potential sources of funding for the organization and write proposals requesting funds for projects and operating expenses.

Project Reports

CJAED donors request regular updates on CJAED's  projects in the field. You will gain a detailed understanding about our varied activities throughout Israel and help write reports documenting projects and their progress.

Research

In addition to seeking out new sources of funding, you will conduct research on topics such as current economic and employment conditions in Israel and statistics on topics relevant to current projects for inclusion in reports and marketing materials.

Marketing, Promotion, and Public Relations

You will contribute to the organization's efforts in the fields of marketing, promotion and public relations by writing articles for our monthly newsletter, managing content on our website and Facebook page and seeking out new channels to spread information about CJAED worldwide.

Project Management

You will work side by side with project managers and learn about project management in the field, project execution and evaluation. Working directly on projects requires a high level of Hebrew and basic Arabic is preferable.

As a multicultural organization with both Jewish and Arab staff members, CJAED provides interns and volunteers with a unique opportunity to be exposed to both the Hebrew and Arabic languages, to Jewish and Arab culture and to be part of a true example of productive Jewish-Arab partnership and coexistence.

CJAED invites you to be a part of carrying out our vision of creating the conditions for a more stable and just society based on a vibrant economy, equal opportunities, and increased prosperity for all of Israel's citizens.

CJAED accepts applications from undergraduate and graduate students, those not currently studying, as well as professionals from all fields, on an as-need basis throughout the year. CJAED seeks candidates with a demonstrated interest in economic development and coexistence. Hebrew or Arabic language skills are an advantage, as are computer skills such as MS Office, database and website development, and experience with social networking sites.

Interns and volunteers will be matched with CJAED projects and programs based on their skills and interests. Internships and volunteering may be full or part time.  CJAED is not able to provide compensation.  However, we will do our best to work with you to fulfill any requirements for academic credit.

To apply for an internship or volunteer placement, please fill out the form below and email a CV or résumé to elysa@cjaed.org.il. We will contact you as soon as possible and do our best to accommodate your availability and skills with our needs. Thank you for your interest in CJAED!
